Charitable Giving

Fedele and Murray, P.C., provides advice on all types of charitable gift-giving options. Charitable gifting may be done during lifetime and/or upon death. The charitable gift planning may include outright bequests, the creation of charitable remainder trusts, and/or the creation of charitable private foundations. The firm can assist clients in the calculation of the tax benefits of these types of gifts. The firm also prepares the necessary documentation to implement these charitable bequests.

The firm also has assisted a number of clients in establishing a charitable private foundation, from the initial drafting of the appropriate documentation to establish the foundation, to completing the application process with the Internal Revenue Service to obtain tax-exempt status, to filing the annual federal and state returns required for these types of foundations.

Mr. Fedele is also actively involved with several different private foundations established by the firm, serving on the Board of Trustees on several different foundations, including The James and Alice McGonagle Charitable Fund and The Genevieve McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation.
